Cadmium iodide(Cas 7790-80-9) Usage
General Description
Cadmium iodide is a chemical compound with the molecular formula CdI2. It is a highly toxic, crystalline compound that often appears as a white or yellowish-white color. This inorganic compound is used in a range of applications including as a photographic fixing agent, in cloud seeding, and as a phosphor in fluorescent screens. Importantly, cadmium iodide is also used in solar cells and electronic equipment. Despite its range of uses, it raises serious health concerns due to its toxicity which can potentially cause harm to bones, kidneys and potentially carcinogenic if it's ingested or inhaled excessively.
